Justice took action after antisemitic phrases about the Bibas family emerged, which were spread through the profile of a teacher from Colegio Carlos Pellegrini on social media. According to sources from the Public Prosecutor's Office of Buenos Aires City, the PCyF 13 Specialized Prosecutor's Office in Discrimination decided to initiate an ex officio process against the user of the social network X@altoguido, who would be a professor at the institution belonging to UBA.
The discriminatory expressions referred to the delivery of the bodies of the Bibas family by the terrorist group Hamas, which kidnapped Shiri, Ariel, and Kfir Bibas on October 7, 2023. "Now more than ever, two three, many Bibas" and "I hope there are as many Bibas as possible" were some of the posts made by the profile attributed to the teacher on an account that has been deactivated.
In light of this situation, prosecutor Andrea Scanga took the initiative to investigate ex officio, thereby starting a process for alleged violations of anti-discrimination laws and for spreading hate speech, actions covered and sanctioned by article 3 of Law 23.592.
